Complete Seamus's Request
Complete The Curious Case of Seamus Diggory by speaking through Seamus's window near Cursed Hollow's Silent Cannons Lantern, finding blood or wine nearby, and returning to give him a drink. Choose wine for the larger Catalyst payout; either bottle earns a Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade and the Blood and Wine achievement.
Start at Silent Cannons in Cursed Hollow
The quest becomes available in Chapter 6: Punishment, in Cursed Hollow. Use the Silent Cannons Lantern as your starting point, then look for the river crossing made from platforms and floating debris. Beyond that crossing, the cannon enemy marks the turn toward Seamus: take the wall-running route on the right to reach his house.
Find the Bottles and Return to Seamus
- Cross the river using the platforms and floating debris along the Silent Cannons route. Continue until you reach the cannon enemy, which is your landmark for the side path.
- Take the wall-running route to the right of the cannon enemy. It brings you into the area containing Seamus's house.
- Interact with the house window to speak to Seamus. This starts the quest and gives you the Empty Bottle for his request.
- Interact with the dead pig in the miniboss area to obtain the Blood-Filled Bottle. Look for the yard beyond the large house near Seamus's shack.
- Pick up the Bottle of Wine from the barrel inside the shack with animals hanging from the ceiling. Collect it before returning if you want to choose wine during the handover.
- Return to Seamus's house window and interact with it to resume the conversation. With the blood and wine collected, you can choose which bottle to give him.
- Give Seamus the Bottle of Wine to finish with the higher Catalyst reward. Giving him the Blood-Filled Bottle also completes the quest and grants the flask upgrade and achievement.
Blood or Wine: Which Should You Give Seamus?
Give Seamus wine if you're choosing by rewards. Both options grant the Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade and unlock Blood and Wine, but wine pays more Catalysts. You cannot hand over the leftover bottle afterward to obtain another upgrade.
| Bottle | Rewards |
|---|---|
| Bottle of Wine | Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade, 3,000 Catalysts, and the Blood and Wine achievement. |
| Blood-Filled Bottle | Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade, 1,000 Catalysts, and the Blood and Wine achievement. |
Apply Your Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade
After completing the handover, visit a Lantern to apply your Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade. Power upgrades improve how much Health each dose restores, while Empty Ferrofluid Flasks add charges. Apply Seamus's reward before continuing your journey to benefit from the stronger healing.
Optional Loot Near Seamus's House
- Check the chest past Seamus's shack for Indestructible Shell. Exploding bodies are nearby, and the chest itself explodes when opened, so approach with care.
- Explore the large house for three pages of Seamus's journal if you want more context for his request. The dog miniboss in the yard beyond the house drops Warrior's Fury.
Quest Trigger and Completion Problems
- Why won't The Curious Case of Seamus Diggory start?
- A failed start trigger has been reported by other players. The normal trigger is the house window reached from Silent Cannons via the river crossing and the wall-running route beside the cannon enemy. If that window interaction does not start the quest, report the failed trigger in the game's Steam bug-report forum.
- Why is the quest still active after I collect the bottles?
- Collecting the bottles is only part of the quest. Return to the house where Seamus gave you the Empty Bottle, interact with the window, and choose a bottle to hand over. That return conversation completes the request and awards the quest rewards.
- Can I finish Seamus's quest after the story?
- Yes, you can start and complete this quest after the story. Once you are back in free roam, return to Cursed Hollow and use Silent Cannons to retrace the route to Seamus's window. You can collect the bottles and finish the handover during that return visit.
