Valor Mortis Guides: Find Your Next Route or Upgrade

Use the chapter walkthrough for a blocked route, the side-quest guide for an unfinished request, and the boss guide for a fight you cannot clear. If survival or equipment is the problem, start with Ferrofluid upgrades and Amber locations before returning to the encounter.

Valor Mortis is a single-player, first-person soulslike developed by One More Level and published by Lyrical Games and One More Level. It launched on October 13, 2026, and its Steam version supports Windows. Use the store links to open the game, or visit its official communities for discussion and help.

Ferrofluid is your primary healing source, so its upgrade route is a useful starting point when you run out of healing before reaching safety. Power and quantity upgrades are separate pickups, and some upgrades require traversal abilities obtained later. At Valley of Ashes — Guidepost, you can collect a Ferrofluid Flask Power Upgrade on a detour before continuing from the wooden cliff platform.

For a quest that changes your flask setup, start Lullaby at Fallen Village — Marketplace. Approaching the empty crib in the house toward the water and distant flames starts the request, and completing it grants Tomorrow's Promise. That Amber adds healing over time to the Ferrofluid Flask. Follow the Lullaby route for the Weathered Key, the Toy and the return to the crib.

For a Transmutation-focused setup, Homesick in the Caverns rewards Bottomless Well, which slowly regenerates Nephtoglobin. Start by collecting the Longing Wife Letter beside the Concerned Mother memory after the Last Sunlight Lantern. The quest then sends you to find the Death Notice before returning to the letter's starting point. Use the Homesick route to connect those landmarks instead of searching the whole cavern again.

Take blade and firearm upgrades to James's Iron Bench, and Transmutation upgrades to Louis's Laboratoire in the Abandoned Church hub. These equipment families use their own upgrade materials. Focus your next material search on the weapon or Transmutation you want to improve, then consult its upgrade requirements before spending your supplies.

For a parryable melee attack, press Block as the hit lands to negate damage and deal Posture damage. Red attacks cannot be blocked or parried, so dodge them. Filling an enemy's Posture bar opens a Critical Attack. Practise these responses on familiar enemies before reading the boss guide's entry for the encounter stopping you.

Check your weapon before trying to repeat a parry tactic. The Saber can block and parry, while the Claymore cannot parry. If you have changed weapons and your usual defence stops working, use the weapon guide to match your approach to the weapon you are holding.

A poison barrier can be a reason to continue the story before finishing a side quest. The Emissary requires Shield Transmutation, obtained at the University, to pass through its poison clouds. Keep The Emissary in your journal while you progress toward the University, then return with Shield to cross its poison barrier.

Install available game updates before retracing a route that appears stuck. Fixes address progression blocks caused by the player and a boss dying together, along with problems starting Misericorde and In the Name of Art. Return to the affected side-quest location after updating, because those fixes do not automatically start or finish the quest in your journal. If a progression soft lock remains, the support team can provide replacement save files for each chapter.

Use the trophy roadmap when you want to turn exploration into a completion plan. Valor Mortis has 39 base-game trophies or achievements, covering story progress and additional collection, quest and combat goals. Earlier regions remain accessible after the final boss for collectible cleanup. Keep your walkthrough reading on the current region and open later sections only when you are ready to tackle their objectives.
